Ceramist Jen Cheung has hosted many of our most popular classes. She's back this Fall with agateware, a varicoloured clay that produces a marbled effect. The striking brown and buff colorways of this clay produce a handsome finish. We'll learn methods and techniques for handling and shaping the clay, which may include making a handle, shaping foot rings, and decorating the surface of your work with stamping and carving. Your pieces will be fired and glazed (clear) post-class, then mailed to you. Students in Jen's previous classes each completed three to five projects. (Please note our photos are of a previous class with "regular" clay!)
We'll supply materials and tools, but bring an apron and be sure to wear clothes that can get a bit messy! A light lunch, beverages, and great conversation are included!
Workshop is Saturday afternoon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We'll be meeting at Jen's home-studio in Pasadena - address will be sent to all enrolled students a few days before the event.
PLEASE READ THE DISCLAIMER HERE. No refunds will be honored within 24 hours of the beginning of the workshop.
