Reworked vintage Levi's 501 jeans with vintage Japanese indigo cotton maekake. The maekeke apron was used by a sake brewer at Fushimi, Kyoto. Jeans come with the original woven tie on the maekake as a belt!

The maekake is a traditional apron that has been used for centuries as part of the uniform of Japanese workers. Maekeke were used by merchants, craftsmen, and factory workers. Printed on the maekake (pronounced: ma-eh-ka-keh) was either the name of the factory or the shop, as advertisement.
